(WIAT) — Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore is criticizing the plan to use a former federal magistrate as prosecutor in the ethics investigation against him.The Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission has hired John Carroll as prosecutor.
Carroll currently serves as the dean of Samford University’s law school. Attorneys for Justice Moore are against the move, saying Carroll once worked for the Southern Poverty Law Center, which filed a complaint against Moore in regards to his stance on same-sex marriage.
Moore is accused of violating judicial ethics with an order after the U.S. Supreme Court allowed same-sex marriage.
